Since we've figured out Surfline has been phoning it in (http://stokereport.com/rant/phoning-it), I'm starting to wonder how much they rely on the ob-###### cam to still make reports when they can't see. Most mornings when the weather is foggy or drizzly, the Surfline cams are blurred out, yet the ob-###### cam is clear. A big thanks to ob-###### for keeping your cam inside. Does Schaeler have it bookmarked?
well, not ony do they phone it in after a questionable cam check, surfline is increasingly guilty of over-extrapolating and one-report-fits-all surf reports. For example, today's SL report for Scruz says "heavily shadowed" SSW swell fills in. Now, this particular report may work for socal, but where are these islands that Santa Cruz suffers from swell shadow?
haha well OB-###### maybe should check IP addresses and figure out who the shay shay is....and once he does, he can use a lil logic to display the 'correct' image...nahwmsayin? :D
I have no doubt that Schaeler cheats with OB-######! Further, I am annoyed with Surfline's "weekend optimism". The forecast in the middle of the week is always looking positive then when the glorious day of Friday or Saturday arrive the forecast is notoriously and consistently of lower quality! Surfline keeps toying with my emotions!
SW Swells from the Southern Ocean south of Australia get here, but are heavily shadowed by New Zealand. SW swells originating north of NZ are shadowed by a lot of the Pacific Islands.
