"Shortboarders have no souls. They have lost touch with the ocean, with the waves and with the mystery of surfing. They are more concerned with busting airs and landing tricks than they are with enjoying the surfing experience. Just look at how they talk, "ripping the face", "shredding the wave", "tearing it up", do any of those sound like nice things to do to waves?..."

I thought it was funny that the ad on the side of the page is for a FW Flexfire high-performance shortboard. That site is hardly "science."

Probably written by the least soulful longboarder out there. This person needs help.

1. Pick the right board for the right conditions
2. I'm in my early 20's and going gray
3. The rider might lack style but thats hardly the board's fault
4. Just being in the water is what matters most to me
5. Just saw two guys(on longboards) get into a screaming match yesterday out at LM
6. Longboards ride too easily so anybody and their mother can do it... not that thats a bad thing, just not as much skill is involved.
Personally I hate this argument. Its like comparing apples and oranges.
