Rant - Team TOGO'S

My Craigslist lurking resulting in snagging a bargain on a 6'8" Rusty's board. Comes with a TOGO's hot coated sticker up front near the nose and another one above the waist that says "Summerfest 2000". I had fun with the board on our first outing but can't stop wondering where those tags came from, and what exactly happened in the summer of 2000...Should I be worried about my board's past or just accept her for who she is?
Seriously though, TOGO'S?, I didn't know they were sponsoring surfers. Anyone have a backstory for the TOGO'S tat?

well, Togo's was founded in San Jose back in the 1960s by a couple surfers who opened up the sandwich shop to cater mainly to SJSU students. That's the only surf connection I can think of. It has since changed ownership a few times and has blown up into a national mega-chain within the last decade.

They did a marketing event for a couple years where they had artists decorate boards which they toured through their various chain locations. Only a surfer in business would ever do that with real quality boards. You may have an unpainted one of these boards?? See Wipeout Bar and Grill @ pier 39 for comparisons.
