A San Diego teenager severely beat her 60-year-old mother after she refused to take her surfing, and doctors give the woman a 50 percent chance of survival, a prosecutor told a Superior Court judge Wednesday.
The details came to light during the arraignment of Jillian Alisha Stokes, 18, on felony charges of aggravated mayhem, torture and battery causing great bodily injury.
