Totally Off Topic: Tell me about your band.

I do vocals, percussion, and some puppetry in our five-member band for kids, called "Octopretzel". We describe ourselves as "Fantastically folksy, magically musical, dreamily danceable and singably sweet for humans of all ages!" And we do sing about lots o' things, including fish, octopuses, being under the sea, and other stuff you might figure a band called Octopretzel might do. This isn't really a "band," but it's something I was goofing around with a while ago when the guy from Weezer was doing a songwriting project on YouTube. Very derivative of Pavement, but I like Pavement.

I used to play in the Botticellis and also play in the Tortured Genies and a sit-in drummer in Sonny and the Sunsets.

I play drums and handle all the engineering/production work as well. We've got 2 EP's 'out' which can be downloaded from the website and we're working on a 3rd.

I'm the only surfer in the group at the moment. The only loosely surfing-related thing I can think of is one track has 'Ocean' in the title and I made some sounds that open and close that track that remind me of waves.

I sense a Stoke Report super group forming....

Where is the metal?

I've been working on this live electronic dance music act for 11 years. It's called Soul in the Machine.

We're playing next Saturday at the Burningman Recompression Party.

It doesn't have much to do with surfing except both me and the drummer surf and the other instrumentalist windsurfs.

@kooktastic I am very impressed. I really love all the 'light-up' instruments, especially the marimba and also the wall drums, drum kit and the laser harp! You made all that? Crazy! I particularly enjoyed your version of the Peanuts theme song:
