All I said was I can't give a thumbs up to this post. But the larger question is, do you even understand that your comment, "was this location turtle?" (were you chuckling as you typed it?) makes light of the abuse to this animal? Sounds like you said that comment with no empathy at all. Besides, one person alone can't be a wastebasket sender.

It's just a news story and an interesting one (however fucked up the act was) and the "location turtle" comment was just a funny way of connecting the news item to this online forum. That's how I read it anyway. And no, of course I don't condone such abuse to animals.

Wavewhiner I know you'd like to make this post all about you and the injustices you suffer from other's comments, but this is all about the boxturtle and the animal abuse of sending him up in a balloon. There is nothing funny about that, nothing "good" became of it. Sure. the poor litte guy survived. That is more a lucky ending than "good". Not abuse? I guess, in the same way water boarding isn't torture. If this isn't abuse why are the authorities looking to arrest the perps that did this? I think in your heart you know, too, that this was a mean spirited stunt...but you're more interested in making me the boogie man. Why don't you be a man, show some character and denounce this stunt for what it is? How can someone with such a cool avatar be such a jerk?

OK, I'm making an offer here- Parking lot on North side of OB, I'll bring the duct tape and make a square with 40 ft sides. Who ever shows will help decide what handicaps are given to each contestant- that being sharkturd and waveglider- and I'll referee the death match. There is a (presumed) age difference as ST states to surf bigger and heavier and WG rides the Bo. Also, WG has had some back issues (all the empathy in the world, my friend). So I'm thinking ST gets one arm tied behind his back and/or WG gets a rubber mallet or two. Maybe ST wears some ankle weights and an eye patch and WG gets a wiffle ball bat. Whatever seems fair. Then you guys can go at it AND GET OVER IT!!

@Waveglider, the statement; "You win" does not seem to be an example of, "This shows the value of non-action", but rather more like an example of passive aggression, where a seemingly passive act is in fact an attack in disguise. To truly draw from the power of non-action, an argument would have to been avoided in the first place. "That which has no substance" cannot undo our errors, only time can allow the mud to settle. And...maybe WE can surf at the same location someday.
