Nice quotes from the witnesses, NOT....ugh....did you *have* to publish that shit? We get it...we get what happens when a great white decides to bite you. It's not pretty and quite carnal and raw, ok ok. Publishing the gore version is pretty tactless. Times-standard, you're just another meta-rag that's built on a white labeled bullshit news framework. Congrats.

Happy to hear he's in fair condition, looking at the bite, it looks like a miracle. Now can he have his chunk of board back?

With @piss on this... Didn't need the details. Ugh. Hoping for continued improvement in his condition.

On the bright side, looks like the bite missed the stringer. I'm sure Alex can repair it for him.

Man, I got off easy. Best wishes to this surfer for a speedy recovery. October has lived up to its reputation this year.

from the article...

Adam Brown, an Arcata resident and independent researcher who has been studying and tracking great white sharks since the early 2000s, said they can be found off the North Coast year-round. Great white activity peaks from the end of August to the beginning of December, he said.
”If you are a surfer up here and you go in the water in the fall, the odds are good that a great white has swam by you at some point, and you didn't even know it,” he said.

Second gnarly CA attack in a week. I respect sharks, but the rate of attacks is disturbing.
