Due to an arm injury I am out of the water.
Tried to paddle out last two days got nailed as my arm just hurt to much, which is killing my confidence to paddle in or out.
So frustrated today I am in a he'll of a shite mood I can't look at my wife or kids cause I have so much rage..
Why.
Ough I will try again tomorrow.
Hope you all got barreled you basterds.
No stay stoked I will get out there if I have to buy flippers...

I injured my shoulder (at work) on sept 13. I knew right away I was injured. I went to the emergency medical center and they beefed me up on pain killers (i hate them). When i flew back to CA i got a check up at my regular doc --- then sent to a specialist and then into physical therapy. I've been doing PT since then. I have not surfed Once this fall. After all that fog, waiting for this time zone, waiting for the sun and offshores. I've got a garage full of boards, and that shit is just sitting there.
the doctor said at least another 4-6 weeks, at least ... Doc said, Do Not surf. If you re injure its just gonna take longer to heal --- when and if it does ... Fak.
Its just goes to say, you never know when youre gonna take off on your last wave. So you young and old farts that can surf better stop youre fucking whinning and just enjoy what you've got in front of you.
We are basically 4 legged creatures. And if you fuck up your shoulder, thats 25% of your power. maybe more like 50% of your power if you count them as paddle power.
Being injured really really sucks, BUT its just time to suck it up, pay your dues, and hit the reset button. Spend time with the wife and kids and get some shit dun around the house and in life.
Being out of the water makes you want it even more. Its gonna be good when I get it back.

life is too short to pout. i am in a cube downtown. let the rage go 80 & take the kids to the beach. maybe go try acupuncture, that always cuts my recovery time by 40/ 50%....

Fuck it, try and paddle out with a boogie board. Ain't no shame. As long as you get a wave, you'll stay stoked.

Surfpunk is right...but I am incapable of heeding his advice. I am the King of Pout when I'm hurt. Advise you jump on a stationary bike for a while, then go earn as many Domestic Bliss points as you can. Those things come in handy later.

One thing I've been doing, if I know I can't surf that day, is to not check the reports. Otherwise, I get that frustration like you described. In the end there really is nothing you can do about it, so why put yourself in that situation.
And about your injury - if it continues, you may want to get that checked out. I had a shoulder injury, and I ended up surfing in pain w/it for about 2 months. Finally got it checked out and I had to get surgery (torn labrum). I was back in the water after 3-4 months of physical therapy. In the end it was worth it because it wasn't the type of thing that heals without surgery.
