Warrant for issued for Sunny Garcia's arrest

So it takes three months to issue an arrest warrant for an attack with hundreds of witnesses, captured on video, and widely reported on national TV? No way to step that up at all? Like maybe arrest him at the time of the incident perhaps? Or issue a warrant sometime in the same, uh... month?

I'm pretty sure this is what it would look like if MUNI was put in charge of a police department.

Thank god SOMEONE is actually doing something about this, seeing as the ASP seems to content to just sweep it under the rug. Whether or not he actually has to go through the legal system, the ASP could have at least set an example by restricting or barring him from competition. However, warrant takes away any hope of him requalifying for the tour, seeing as a number of events are in Australia. So, I guess this is the next best thing.

Not sure, but AU has a tax treaty with the US. I'm not no innernashunal lawyer, but when you have a tax treaty with a country, it may mean that financial laws and other legal tendrils intertwine in such a way that extradition is quite possible. So I believe he's going there whether he likes it or not. AU and US are on pretty good terms, so I'd imagine he's going to face the music one way or another.

The guy isn't the biggest thug in the world, but he's definitely the biggest thug ever on the ASP. As someone who is a major fan of pro surfing, I hope I never see him at a contest again.
