AN arrest warrant has been issued for Hawaiian surf star Sunny Garcia after an alleged ugly surf rage incident on the Gold Coast earlier this year.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman today confirmed a warrant had been issued for the arrest of a 41-year-old man on a charge of common assault, reported the Courier-Mail.
Garcia, who won the world professional championship in 2000, is accused of bashing young surfer Adam Clarke during the Breaka Burleigh Pro professional surfing tournament at Burleigh Heads in February.
The Hawaiian allegedly attacked Mr Clarke in front of hundreds of spectators after he cut in front of Garcia's son, Sunny Jr, on a wave.
