We all suck.

I agree. I knew I sucked before. But today, I realized the true magnitude of how much I suck.

I think I need to get tubed at OB. I mean really. Did you think those were tube riding waves? Me either until I saw the pros get deep and come out.

I now have no excuse to over-look poor+ conditions.

This is not poor+, or maybe I'm just jaded. I had fun out there early, but watching the pros is just different and so awesome.

Anyone see Fanning's awesome lip-pitch / lobster dive on his last wave? We can all do that! :)

I feel like the self-loathing stage came really quickly. inspired, we're inspired.

Yeah I was amazed at how easily these guys found and got into barrels-humbling for sure.

I was inspired this morning, went and tried to live out my inspiration this afternoon, was humbled by the evening.... Sitting here now I just accept how much I really do suck

I found out years ago during one of the SFOB contests in the nineties that I sucked so it's just something I accept now. I think a big part of it is that after too many years of getting caught inside one tends to get too cautious where it turns out that by pushing it harder one actually gains more control and in turn actually ends up having more fun. These guys really are inspiring.

@wavecraver - I tend to always get carried away and end up inside on my waves, I just get stoked when I actually get a few turns on the same wave, I get off and I am like damn - I am effed!

Just a quick addendum to this rant: We don't all suck here, there are plenty of very skilled SFOB surfers and they too are an inspiration for us all.

@tmadison - Yes, commiting the sin of just trying to ride the whole wave often leads to a world of hurt. That's why the last wave in can often be the most satisfying ride of the day.
