In the depths of my 103 degree fever, with delirium setting in and all hopes of epic Ocean Beach sessions this week melting away, I began to dream dreams of the ultimate OB quiver. So before I fall into a complete fever-induced-insanity from this cold and lack of surf, I have typed out this message to you, Stokereporters, to ask what is your ultimate OB quiver? Mini-gun? Gun? Fish? Shortboard? Longboard? Anything that floats?
No takers? I would appreciate any advice / thoughts as I'm planning on moving out to the sunset and surfing OB a lot more.
Mine is far from ultimate, but I'd say:
(1) performance fish / biscuit,
(2) standard shortboard,
(3) step-up board, between shortboard and minigun in size, and with a more pulled in round-pin tail (this is what I lack)
(4) mini-gun, on the bigger side (I have a 7'4", wishing it was a 7'6" many others share that angst),
(5) 8' or 8"6" hybrid/funboard. I don't have one, but you always see the (ahem) more experienced gents out there on mellower days killing it with a big floaty performance hybrid.
I don't particularly like longboarding at OB, but clearly others do...
