Where you can find a good pointbreak

Rant - Where you can find a good pointbreak

This is for King of Kooks, who needs a place to practice his mat technique.

This place has "heaps" (clue #1) of uncrowded point breaks. Cheap as (#2) for Americans, and if you're under 30, you can get a one year work permit. What's stopping you?

I've been there 3 times, we loves it, we needs it, my precioussssss (clue #3).

For the most part, Kiwis are super nice. Are you in SF? We might have met.

Avoid the big-name places for sure. There's no need to cluster up at a place like Raglan when there's empty beaches all over. Other than that, are you saying you don't want tourists? My Kiwi friends sure do.

It's also very windy (note the strong offshores in the top two pics) with inconsistent and mostly gets short lived short period swells... and in the winter when the surf is best the water is colder than CA in most parts. But you will get surf year round if you're willing to drive and can figure out the offshore places. (Raglan is onshore most of the time anyway). However, it is less crowded than the USA.
