Good question, I heard he went underground and is hanging with Salman Rushdie.

He was afraid of getting busted by the law for his public sexual relations with juvenile whales so he went underground.

There was a leveraged buyout. He is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Powerlines Productions.

I got a few words from the dood and I pass them on to you:

"I voluntarily decided to no longer post due to the drama.

I miss posting on Stoke Report and I do miss you all. Most of the time I never even posted real time on sites nor sensitive ones anyway, but being there in the mix appeared as if I did, or was associated with it.

I felt that there was an honest culture clash between those surfers who had an old school mentality vs some of the more forward thinking ones, and I no longer wanted to participate in either, but instead chose to find my own path, and be myself.

And who is that person exactly?

I like to surf. A lot. And I didn't want static in or out of the water, so I opted to no longer post, and just blend in, and be the best surfer I could be.

It was a hard decision. But I surmised that I liked surfing more than I liked posting on an Internet forum.
I still watch and read... and again, terribly miss you all, but rather than online, I'd like to see you where it's most important: in the water.

Be good, be well, stay happy and healthy."

The dood abides.

I personally enjoy stoke report so much more in the absence of Lee and Greg.
They seemed to be purposefully antagonistic and foster non-stoke.
Cryptomail seemed more of a harmless-super-mega-kook who meant well and was kinda funny in a wacky, embarrassing way.
Alot of the scary heavy guys know what many of the stoke reporters look like, including the above three.
Be safe out there!

I personally enjoyed it more when real people were posting about real surfing rather than dozens of fake troll accounts posting gimmicky threads to try and get an angry response...but hey, people have fun in their own ways :D

Good on crypto for having priorities and sticking to them. I know I'd much rather be having fun in the water than on the internet today.

@Condor: of the three you mention, the only one I've met in person is Crypto and he's a really nice guy. If some locals are gonna alpha dog him, how about pantsing him in the parking lot? :) He's harmless. IMO, if people allow it, eventually they'll be glad that he's their friend.

just my $0.02, nothing more.

I will miss Crypto on this blog, but I occasionally see him out in the lineup at FP, so I know he's not gone. Don't know him personally, but he's always got a huge smile on his face and laughs at all my stupid jokes, so he's a-ok with me. haha. I respect where he's coming from: he just likes to surf; A LOT. Surfing is the most important thing for him, so I respect his position to lay low, not ruffle any feathers, in hopes of just getting as many waves as possible. So, I'll see you and your maniac paddling style in the lineups, Crypt. ;-)

I think maybe Condor's post comes off a bit like a put down, but I have to agree with him. I understand where people like Lee were coming from, but I didn't exactly agree with his methods. I can understand that if you're unhappy with a societal norm you might want to do your part to change it. But I don't think that posting real time reports (particularly of sensitive spots) as sort of a revenge/retribution to locals who have spited him in sort of a "Neener-neener-neeeeeener! I'm going to post to get back to you" way is very effective. You're just sinking down to their level when you do that.

If you pants Crypto in the parking lot, you will get a serious dose of Tighty Whitey.

Be warned!

I just met the man...i think we're both stoked. Unfortunately our conversation was cut short by a friend who spotted me on the street - we never got to identify ourselves as S R past or present users (maybe for the best?) although I txted him, so he'll get the message when he is off that radical cycle
