During this evenings session about 5:30 at O.B. I was surfing with 2 body surfers, 2 surfers, and 1 bodyboarder. It was quite choppy, doubling up, and foggy. Suddenly, 3 porpoises appear right behind a sea lion all swimming at a high rate of speed about 100 yards out near the outside bar. After they were gone from sight me and the bodysurfers noticed a large triangular fin and huge back that never showed itself again. After this sighting, we made our way to the beach also, not wanting to be suddenly mistaken for the lion. I can't rightfully declare that it was an old White, but, it damn sure looked like one. And, I was not the only one whom thought so. I hope we were wrong.

You should let Shark Research Committee (http://www.sharkresearchworldwide.org/formstart.htm) know about it--it'll help long-term studies of shark behavior.

I'll write it for them...
At OCean beach san francisco around 5:30 pm under foggy skies. The water surface was partially murky. Waveslave had been surfing for about 45 seconds. There was a slightly annoying breeze out of the West sounthwest.
He reports: I was surfing for about 45 seconds when I noticed a herd of sea lions and a Manatee swimming at very high speeds. They looked like they were fleeing. I then noticed a triangular fin that appeared once and then dissapeared like a double rainbow.

@mrslave, sounds like a similar setup to the situation @zurffy & I were in a month ago... Sunset sesh, saw a dolphin come clear out of the water, and then a couple of minutes later, I'm splashing around obliviously while everyone else is standing on the beach screaming for me to get out of the water.
That makes 2 more sightings at OB than any season in recent memory, no?.... :/

Couple unconfirmed ones at Pacifica too. I haven't gone so far to put a label on what I saw a few feeks ago, but yeah....it's been a busy season for wildlife of all sorts.
