Doesn't this make you feel all warm and fuzzy about surfing:
------
As a HMB surfer it is nice to see your reports but may I kindly request
that you refrain from informing the cyberworld of some of the lesser known
spots in town.
-----
Dude, Its the internet.
Its a public beach, its empty, and I did not mention the spot where I was.
This has been done over and to death, Personally I would like to see 2-3 surfers at these spots when I paddle out for safety and someone to talk to in the line up.
These beach breaks are more advanced spots and will never be full of kooks (they can't make the paddle out just like OB, they take care of themselves), just because someone posts a morning video of a surf report from a lesser know spot doesn't mean the whole internet is going to come. Stokereport and Twitter are pretty tight communities that most of the internet doesn't pay attention to. It would be different if It was posted to say surfline.
Its a report, things change, information gets shared, deal with it. I post with my real name and real photo as I don't think hiding information behind a name like dudester is conductive to the community. I know most of the regular posters here on SR and I have met them in real life and they are good people and fun to surf with so why be so Anal Retentive about having someone know the conditions of the 4 miles of beach break we call Half Moon Bay?
This has been done to death here.

What are you afraid of? that 4 or more people will make the trip from SF to surf one of our fabulous beach breaks in HMB?
Personally I would like to see a few people out at some of the tougher beach breaks in the morning, half the time I dawn patrol the jetty I do it solo, I surf the other beach breaks solo 80% of the time, the 20% being when I bring a friend with me.
I report so others can enjoy the waves and share the stoke. Its Half Moon Bay, they are public town and state beaches, they are not secret, they are not sacred, they are not crowded.
The thought that a simple fuzzy video on the internet showing this would change that fact is silly. Most people in SF think the world ends at Devils slide, I know this because I bug a lot of them to come surf with me and they don't because it is too far. Sharing that there is a another spot in Half Moon Bay beyond Mavericks or The Jetty can take the pressure off some of them and allow more waves for all.
Half Moon Bay is over 4 Miles long, there is plenty of beach break for all.
