good surfing conditions at San Francisco - Ocean Beach

HELLO! #2 please, with a side of going for broke.

Even better than yesterday. Sets were well overhead where I was at 8am peaks shifting but that's OB, be prepared to dodge them if you want the HH's. Scored big epic right that's only failure was not covering me up, best of 2011 for me. Making up for yesterdays lost board and long swim. It is occasionally sectiony or closing out though, and I received a nice drag to the inside when I didn't make it out the top on my only left and did not manage to dive over the ensuing 7 foot wall of white water. Saw many other epic rides all rights though.

clear and sunny too, but I found peaks to be shifty and current to be very fast. Saw a few great rides and a few lip-to-pit wipe outs. fun morning

It's also kinda blowey out there with them offies!

Found an easy out by the crab pot bouys (I think that is what they are), just like yesterday.

Only hit once as I crossed the outer bar; nearly a dry hood paddle out.

Seemed like dying swell from yesterday mixing with new swell arriving now.

The southbound current was not insurmountable, well, the good number of lefts helped.

Was it more offshore today? There was a moment in the dimness when it was strikingly glassy, then north winds, then NE for the last half of the surf.

The John Schultz experimental bonzer went alright again today. Drifts a little bit on the hard bottom turns, but once on the wall, frictionless speed makes it easy to outrun the section...though of course, that speed didn't help on the doubling up left when I took off on the main peak thinking I could pump through/around the building secondary peak.

Pretty good tine for me, and my cold toes now tell me that the dry 3 mm boots aren't enough and I should just put on the wet 5 mm boots i used yesterday.

nice to get a little face time with leo dicappuccino... 2nd left i dropped into late was Way Over Hasbro with no egress, but after straightening out my speedos, found some cereal fun b4 the 6 block hike home.

Fun. Fun. Fun. Had the easy paddle out, turn around, catch my wave of the session, and then head back out without fighting for 30 minutes. Very nice. And I managed to crushed by a lip after I made a drop, looked up, and realized that there was no way to go .... came back out to see Jesse R. shaking his head at me. Foolish, optimistic boy.
