great surfing conditions at Tahoe - Heavenly

Thursday 5pm - Tahoe - Heavenly, great skiing

Holy crappppppp. Got to the Gun Barrel chair at 8:50 and jumped way up front through the singles line. Got one of the first tracks down Gun Barrel. Lapped for about 3 runs.. first run was mind blowing. Headed over to Sky Glades for a couple runs and then over to FB. Did about 5 laps through FB. Best early but then at the end of my day we took the cat track left and dropped in right at the mid mountain Gondola drop off. It was all untracked for 1/2 the run and a nice steep pitch. I would say FB was all time today.

My favorite place to Ski is Heavenly. Go to the top, use the Nevada side for a while, then come back down Round-About with the view of the Lake. BEAUTIFUL!

No. You are not alone. While pelicans usually just hang around in the cold or when glassy go to scope out fish for an easy dive, this bird has not the luxury of a mid-week ski. Foul is the 9 to 5. Though I do know well the joy of cold Sierra powder - turns in the zip code of castle peak. Hopefully, it stays cold all the day long so as not to induce the dreaded "sierra cement." A few hundred years ago it snowed in the Big Sur Mountains. No Shit!

Sierra Cement? Haven't seen that in a long time. It's La Nina.. so it's generally colder.

@deciblast, no, just jealous. It's funny, I work for myself, but I'm also working my ass off just to kind of keep afloat. Not much time to surf, skiing not an option. But I suppose that's also just a function of the stage of life I'm at, i.e., the parent of a young kid, wife not working, me trying to keep my career chugging along.
