Wednesday 11am - San Francisco - Ocean Beach, fair surfing

Zippy rides, and word got out fast - three guys when I went in the water and thirty when I left.

I wonder if posting about surf sessions on Stoke Report has anything to do with that?

Good times. Surprisingly clean on the outside. I think I was one of those 3 in the water at 6:30. Thought I was all alone for an hour until I drifted n0rth into a group of at least a dozen guys. Glad I set in farther down from there so I had some shifty peaks to myself for awhile.

For a Fall day, it was real nice this morning. I went in at 6:45am and it was sunny, glassy as can be and with HH+ somewhat slopey waves. Lots of fun and got my stoke on!
Something to remember... I was in Santa Barbara surfing all last week on vacation and surfed every day. I caught about 30 waves per hour. (Mind you.. I could literally walk my board out 50-60 feet where the waves were breaking). Coming back today watching 3 guys who couldn't even make it out, and catching 5 waves in an hour made reality set in. We have amazing waves at OB, often times fickle and always a VERY challenging paddle. Maybe we don't get the wave-count like those down south, but if you can handle the paddle, the reward can be great.

Surfed this morning 7-9. It looked small but the f'n paddle SUCKED. Also got sucked north and had a good 12 minute walk back to my car. Today I even had a hard time paddling in. OB, I am your beeeatch. Did get to see dolphins surfing though. Winning!

Pretty stoked w/the conditions given it's the middle of spring. Lots of waves, including a 3-wave conveyor belt set in the middle--catch really nice right, paddling out, turn, catch another nice one, paddling out, turn, catch wave #3.

Pretty soft given how low the tide was, but I'll take it. The whale rolling through was lagniappe.

@Mike, +1 for the troll attempt.

Had an involuntary body surf wipeout that might've been fun if the wave hadn't held my face down like I owed it money. I probably do. It was a little mush at times, but there were some fun drops on occasion. Snagged a couple good sized ones before I was humbled.

Piss shiver that's exactly what I did and I got out of a 4-6 wk trial and hit OB about 1:30, still some fun ones out there. Our paths haven't crossed in a while, but it's probably cuz I'm asleep, when you paddle out! Beauty rest I need it.
