fair surfing conditions at San Francisco - Ocean Beach

I made a post for last night which was amazing. Today??? argh!
She loves me... She loves me not.
There were decent size waves coming through from 6:30-8am but it was unorganized in a big way.
I felt as though I was playing a game of cat and mouse and I got dogged.
Got a few but about the waves were a little less than 1/2 the size as last night.

It was junky to be sure, but I had plenty of fun, weird peaks. Was turning to complete crap when I got out at 8:00. In this case, the early bird got the slightly squished and funky looking worm, but a meal nonetheless...

I'm going to say complete crap at 9:30am.

My Expectations:
* OH-1.5x
* No wind/light wind
* Glassy
* Crowded as F
* Me: Stoked out of my gourd

Reality:
* CH-OH (some short dudes were catching 1.5xOH waves... for them)
* Rather stiff onshores
* Bumpy, junky, chewy
* See above... Not so crowded
* Me: After overcoming my grumpyness due to unmet expectations... Pretty stoked. Caught a bunch of fun waves, including my last, which let me make multiple turns all the way to the inside.

Bonus points: Now listening to Merle Haggard in preparation for HSBG this weekend.

Thanks for reminding me, I think I'm missing MC Hammer right now. Fun ones out there, but confused peaks. what a difference a day makes. worse than I would have thought, but better than it looked. Best one I snagged was three different waves masquerading as one, including 2 unique steep drops.

Speaking as one of those short guys for whom it was occasionally 1.5x, I would concur that it was a fun time. High expectations were unmet, but once you adjusted your standard there were some nice rides to be had.

Pretty decent...got a little late start and had a quickie from 7-8 right out front. Craptastic, but what the hell...used my new 6'6 single fin from Las Olas for the second time in solitude, and snagged a few tasties as well. No complaints really.
