fair surfing conditions at San Francisco - Ocean Beach

Friday 1pm - San Francisco - Ocean Beach, fair surfing

Blah. It's not much fun out there. Sure, it's glassy and there's a little swell left, but it's just not really working. Soft and weird with the big tidal swing. Southerly current is pulling fairly strong. Might get better as the low continues draining out. Watch out for the longboard GoPro crew. They're obliviously burning and wasting the inconsistent sets.

It's also very crowded. Just saw no less than 20 more surfers crossing Great Highway to get in. Holiday Party waves abound. Might wanna bring some eggnog to stay in the spirit.

Went out on both a shortboard and a longboard. On a shorty it was maybe fair. Decent shape but too soft and too much paddling. On a longboard it was fair plus to good minus. Shape and everything else seemed to be getting better as I left. Tide was letting out, but unfortunately so were my arms.

aye with the crowd...I saw what things were like so i had 4 shots before i paddled out (gotta luv using the emergency reserve in the trunk) and it made things much better. sure i nose dived a few times but it made the adventure all the more worthwhile. I mean dood u get the best barrels ever dood just like u pull in and u just get spit right out of them. and u just drop in and u smack the lip wapah, drop down sanbah and then after that u just drop in and jsut ride the barrel and get pitted so pitted

@Mike Balzitch we appreciate your general concern and your sharp eye for the obvious. I am part of a larger organism that includes concerned residents of this particular surf break. We are collecting information on individuals who publicly post photo/video documentation of this surfing spot. Although we have not formally pursued people who are "blasting hourly updates", these activities are also of real concern to us.
