surfing conditions at San Francisco - Ocean Beach

Wednesday 9am - San Francisco - Ocean Beach

Most fun I've had at SFOB in a while. A bit soft but decent energy & organization. Bonus points for sun & crazy guy screaming about respect

damn, decided to pass, looked kinda crumbly and flopping over on itself.

I'm with RG...but I kinda regret it. It was do-able. Pah.

@rg, yep, there were definitely plenty of waves of the crumbly & floppy variety. But, if you lined up a good one (and there were plenty out there), it sure was fun.

I had a good time. It was mean and green and pleasantly un-summerlike.

I also learned not to clamber over the rocks to get back from the cliffs. That was silly.

Yeah it was a bit sloppy, but still a great morning at the beach!

He must be crazy to want respect, most newbie surfers don't understand respect.

Nowhere I went were there enough people around to even create the conditions where someone might be demanding "respect". I guess some people are never happy.

Heh, sorry for the confusion... 'twasn't a surfer. Was some crazy dude in his car that tried to run us over in the lot b/c, I think, we thought it curious that he was trying to use his breakfast scone as a camera. Didn't say anything to him, just glanced over as he held up his scone to snap a picture. Anyway, he buzzed us twice, and then, as he was leaving, hollered unintelligibly. The one word we did catch was "respect".

SCONE MANNNNNNN!!!! F yeah that rules so hard. I'd love to take a picture with a donut, it's more practical!
Edit: Coralary: any you guys get the Russian guy that is absolutely batshit insane talking to you about how Gavin Newsome is total shit, and that electron microscopes will help the U.S.? Man...things get WEIRD at OB :)

It's always beneficial to treat others decently, in the water or as landlubbers. But with everyone calling for "respect" at every PERCEIVED injustice, the meaning of the word has just become so diluted. I too, thought sticker was speaking of a water incident. It just seems people today are too quick to react...to everything. A misunderstood twitch becomes an affront to someone's dignity...a half-second look at a scone camera (sticker, you should have asked him if it was a gopro) gets you a garbled tongue lashing. or an accidental but apologetic drop-in gets you the overlpayed "respect" card. I just think the respect meme within surf culture has become a joke.

sharkturd, I'm giving you a donut camera out of respect. And these chopticks...you can use them to contact aliens if you rub them together....

Any of you guys meet Jeffery?

Jeffery is a man that lurks in the rocks near the animal hotel end of the beach. One day as I was getting out of the water I saw him howling in the rocks, he spotted my friend and I and followed us to the parking lot. He stood next to my buddy and I as we changed out of our wetsuits asking us if we surfed, most awkward 10 minutes of my life.

He introduced himself as Jeffery, gorilla thumped his chest, then started to howl at us. I thought I was going to get stabbed with a poopy shank.

@Piss -- crazy Ivan is around quite often. He's a trip.

On the doughpro - you'll probably want a water housing for that to keep it fresh out in the water.

Do Not Make Eye Contact. repeat Do Not Make Eye Contact. Makes you wonder if it's worse downtown (probably). Figure anybody trying to camp in the dunes is entitled to have his howl at the moon - won't be there long.
