Wednesday 6am - San Francisco - Ocean Beach, fair surfing

A bit textured and closing out but some fun peeling shoulder high sets. Worth getting wet imho.

First day back from Bali...
SO MUCH FUN.
Big ole dolphins sharing the break, bunch of friends I haven't seen, and the cold ones were a welcome experience believe it or not! :)
Good to be back at my home break.
Go out and surf today, really was good!

yeah it was pretty fun this AM, some good peaks. Low light makes for crappy pics with the GoPro, but a few OK shots here: http://picasaweb.google.com/CityStoke/Ob082609#
And crypto, welcome back to the cold, was the Bukit firing?

Oh man, all over it was firing...Uluwatu, Pedang Pedang, Sokel, Medawi, Dreamland...wow Bali is something else.
Dreamland is crowded as F tho :(, but I'll tell you those waves over there...they hold up big time :)
One day I went out at Dreamland, and it was 2x, and it wasn't crowded. Haha, that kind of separated the men from the boys :)
I think that's generally the Bali rule...if it's X,X+,2X you can get some at the "popular" breaks.
If not, groan....you get finned. I got pinball finned from my head to my arm and got a deep gash there from someone from a certain landlocked European country. They didn't know that they should hold onto their board! :)
A recommended destination for any surfer who can surf (and ride a motor scooter :) )

yeah Bali is pretty incredible. It's too bad Dreamland has gotten so developed. I was there a couple years ago and it was pristine, then returned last year to a zoo of tourists and some really ugly commercial development. I'm sure it's only gotten worse. Awesome that you scored there though. Bingin is an incredible spot too, right next to Dreamland, and there's nothing quite like paddling through the cave at Ulu's for the first time.
