The swell really dropped down tremendously from yesterday, but a couple guys were catching rides sort of in the middle of rockaway. I ended up trying the ###### of the beach and the middle and basically getting skunked all the way around. Still, better getting wet than getting nothing. This video is more about the odd coincidence of the song that came on the radio as I was pulling up.
hmm - what time did you hit it? I surfed Rockaway from 11AM to 1PM Sunday and had a total blast. The middle peak was shifted pretty far north, but there was no rip at all to the north (which is usually there and can be problematic). The middle peak was head high and I caught 10 or so really nice long lefts. About 12 ppl out and Jeff Clark (bows, please) came out sweeping on a SUP. He was super nice and we all gave him every wave he was near as a sign of our respect. Still plenty of great lefts to go around. As usual with SF surfing, things can change on a dime, but I happened to get lucky.
Yeah I was there later in the afternoon, and it was dying off. And/or I just didn't understand how to line it up because of the strange way the lineup had shifted.
