Tuesday 9am - San Mateo - Linda Mar, fair surfing

weirdly fun! surfed dawn to 830 and it started raining at the end-magical. maybe 2-3ft at the ######, bigger north, clean conditions, high tidey, i lurked the ###### and got a handful of waves, some fun, a few peeps scattered along the whole beach. saw a few guys paddle out ###### early and it looked like one got covered up on a right on their first wave maybe, did i really see that? and i thought, that's what it must feel like to be a gangsta. i took 2 sets on the head before catching my first wave, i am a muffin :) if you want some waves, they are there.

funny you post this...we were thinking to ourselves, is that a pickle_sf muffin? That first right you saw probably was Lee, and yeah he ruled the school. ###### was srsbzns, and I tried to up my game. Try is the operative word here. Pitched over the falls twice and ate donuts big time, but you gotta pay to play sometimes. Having had enough punishment I scootched over to Lee and Concious Pilot and finally made an absolutely mackin left that I held onto on the high side, while it was chandeliering :)
So yeah, good times all around indeed :D

argh. a curse on all of you. I was there on the ###### (but nowhere near as north as Crypto-you have very little regard for your own safety, my friend!)) and I just couldn't commit to catch a thing - too many macking closeouts. Lee and Crypto caught many, but I was Skunks McGillicudy. Glad Lee, Crypto and Pickle_SF made it work.

I don't think over the falls to a twelve pack donut on a 10' drop counts as 'making it'...but yeah...I have my 'Risk Taking Asshole' endoresments. RTA #7823792, LM, SFOB

Today was by far the best I've ever seen or surfed Linda Mar. Long overhead rights breaking consistently at the ######. A few closeouts to dodge, but plenty of makeable waves. Saw some rippers pulling 360s etc on the smaller waves at the ###### and what looked like a few hellmen out on DOH+ Pedro Point. Stoked!

Pedro Point has had a group of about 6 folks who have been hitting it hard on a very regular basis. No idea who they are. I never see them paddle out, and I never see them paddle in. Word on the street is that it's some sort of goofy footed CIA operation and they arrive by helicopter and/or vans with no windows. Not even a windshield. Very mysterious.

The only thing I can confirm is that they rip. Watched from the hill last week as one guy (girl?) just humbled the DOH waves with massive cutbacks. Huge wrapping cutties. I offered several silent hoots along with a few loud ones.

One of the weird things about Pedro Point is there seems to be some sort of seamount out there slightly to the north of it. Sometimes when it's going big I'll look out there and the horizon looks like it's got a lump in it as the wave goes over it it. Sometimes, if it's big enough it'll break, but otherwise the lump flattens out as the wave passes over the mount.

Any one else notice this?
