surfing conditions at San Francisco - Ocean Beach

The allure of the group, desire for the oceanic feeling of oneness, mob psychology led me to joint the Stokers in the insanity this morning. Marklukach was killing it with the hand planer. I got eaten for breakfast by the DOH macker closeouts, and unknowingly traveled quite a ways north, snapped my leash, and did the "swim in" of shame. Luckily my board survived in one piece.

There's no shame in that swim. That's a swim to be proud of.

I not only had the pleasure of meeting "there are women on this site" Maria but also got to witness the DOH macker she took to the head. I barely made it past the lip & wouldn't have wished that beast on even the grumpiest local's head.

And yeah, as far as I could see, @lukach was the only one scoring. I happily settled for a HH+ish inner bar right on my paddle in.

I declare this week "Women of stoke report are mighty tough indeed" week. I need to get Veronica on here after her 7ft over the falls ride yesterday to round things out.

btw, I have no authority to declare things. Declaring things is fun so I'm going to do it anyway.

I witnessed Veronica's OTF yesterday, as did @Cryptomail, who was much closer. Props to Veronica for turning around and paddling right back out - she's hella-tough. I have had many of those moments but they typically send me home with my tail between my legs.

Fun morning. For the record, @maria was the last to get in the water from the parking lot, and the first to make it outside. I think that needs some clarification.

As for "killing it" and "scoring," those are extremely generous words to use. I got one wave on the outside where I took off left, and about halfway down the face hit a bump and free-fell to the bottom. However, I was able to still ride it down there a little bit before getting closed out and rattled relentlessly. I eventually floated down from ###### to ###### (!!!!!) where I settled for a few more inside waves that were pretty fun. Truth is, the inside had some great looking waves, they were just all over the place and really hard to track down without getting pummeled. On the whole it was fun to be out with everyone as we collectively realized that we had all bitten off far more than we were mentally game to chew.
