Not sure how many people would call today "clean". "Not blown out" (until about 2:30pm) maybe. But I prefer my "clean" without a 6 knot reverse ebb pushing out out of the lineup. Today was just flat out difficult. Good exercise on a sunny day though, I guess.

11:15 or so. Lots of paddling. Lots of current. Still looks pretty.

Hey Pete, I think you called it. When I was there, it was absolutely nuts. I don't get beaten that often but after making it out, then giving up a few, and then taking a few on the head, and then trying to get out again, I can honestly say, despite my stubbornness, I was in fact beaten. :D
And poo poo @ @tcannon for not even going out :(

Yeah, I'll try to keep this comment as positive as possible so I don't come off as a hater, but I generally think "poo poo on anyone" who posts a real-time comment on this place, especially if they themselves don't go out. This place can change more in 15 minutes than OB. What was once easy and glassy when initially post an update to other stokereporters can be something completely different by the time you arrive in your cars. Sunday was the perfect example; it was all lah-dee-dah, perfect and glassy and fun one minute and then three minutes later the damn Colorado River blew through the lineup at full force, somehow blowing the exact opposite direction as the normal tidal ebb shouuld god. The Fort is a total mindfuck sometimes.

But more importantly (and I'm saying this to be helpful and not in any way to be threatening or a cool guy), the locals are NOT diggin' it. I think it's much more helpful to post your reports, at this particular spot any way, AFTER you get home. As barbaric as they can be, the FPG read the internet, too. So, please use a little discretion when leaving reports about this place.

I don't think you're a hater, and I thought it was the only spot that had a chance yesterday. That's why that pic didn't go up until many hours after it was taken ... and it was good and blown out by the time I did. Live time OB reports -- fine, but a place with a narrow take off and 25+ people already out on a Sunday when nothing else is working? No argument here. I readily concede your point.

I've been reading the old niceness.org archives a lot lately and been reading the same arguments re-hashed the same way for what seems forever. Fun one I just ran into -- a nice argument about erosion at Sloat and what should be done about it. From 2003. Some things are just timeless, apparently.

Hey tcannon, I wasn't referring to you, mate. I was referring to the poster of this report. I've got no problem with you posting a pic of the day's events once the day is over.

Thanks for hearing me out.

Update: PS, I feel like an ass for poo poo'ing tcannon. If you knew why he didn't go in, and just looked, and then poo poo'd him, you'd probably feel like poo poo :(
I just wanted his company out there :D
