The word I'm looking for there is "slabs". Mean motherfookin' slabs. Kudos for @crypto for being the 1 in 5 of us that made it past the break.

Beautiful morning for a paddle, though, & if the winds hold off, it could clean up enough to be a lot of fun. Jealous of any of y'all that can get out to check it.

I feel a sense of responsibility for our paddle out. I made the stupid comment "Hey, the paddle doesn't look too bad." I think I heard the Greg Brady scary tiki theme music when that happened.

@K'tastic, exactly, the shape was a slab (or wedge, if you will) even if there wasn't a reef bottom creating it.

btw, I have no idea what 'bathymetry' means... :)

Well...I'm back... and yeah that *was* brutality.
I pull up.
I see four dudes *walking* back, and I'm like OH NOOOOOOO :(, it's gunna be *THAT* kind of morning HUH?
Yep. It was.
Lost one, and then there were three :)
Then I'm like welp....I'm here, I'm suited up...I have the 'vision' to break through, now it's about execution.
Three cookie monster blows and 40minutes of paddling later...yeah I broke through to some HH,HH+ sets on the outside.
The waves were mostly served up by Shifty Mc Shiftersons Shady Peaks Inc., and I managed to catch one that already lipped, and then I got an inside mogul and called it.
When you see dudes walking up the beach...you lower your expectations and put on your grunt 'tude.
