fair surfing conditions at San Mateo - Half Moon Bay

Saturday 5pm - San Mateo - Half Moon Bay, fair surfing

Some really nice chest high to head high waves on some sets. Lots of close out with a strong side shore wind, but the sun and the swell make it pretty darn fun.

I caught my last wave on my well loved Harbour 8'0" surfboard :( I caught a wonderful long chest high right that unfourtunatly jacked up and perled the nose into the sand Hard :( This was my first board so I am sad to see it done.

Bummer about the Harbour, man!

I don't think I ever eulogized my first board, but it was a Softop, so...

it's hard to see your first love go :( ... although, it looks repairable to me.

It's repairable for about 200 bucks, when I paid 150 for the board hard to justify. If someone would be willing to fix it for 80 I would do it.
the stringer is broke and it's cracked pretty bad.

I was the one who posted your "RIP Fair Harbour" video on the Harbour Surf Talk site, hope you didn't mind. I see that you got a response from Rich Harbour. However, beware that if you order a board from them you are at the mercy of the shipping companies, and this can happen to your board if delivered up here in the, what Rich refers to as "The Burbs." Great boards, and Rich is a stand up honest person and shaper, but again, if the board gets damaged in shipping, you're still paying full price for a damaged, and then repaired new surfboard. My advice, buy one from a shop and avoid having it shipped.

I paid well over a grand for the original custom ordered board from Bodega Bay Surf Shack, and nobody would commit, nor take responsibility for the damage that was done, and too be able to repair it up here as if it were new. So I ended up with a completely different board from the Harbour Shop in Seal Beach (Sea Foam Green pics). A beautiful board, but not what I originally ordered.
