fair surfing conditions at San Mateo - Linda Mar

Monday 12pm - San Mateo - Linda Mar, fair surfing

Knee - nipple high | light offshore | somewhat crumbly but still fun

Quick, grab your board and ... oh wait, if you're not at work you are probably already in the water, (lineup was about 20 deep on both the peaks at the central-###### of SMLM)

The rising tide definitely cleaned everything up and produced rideable, if somewhat soft and crumbly waves from about 10-11:30. Before that tide was too low and after it was a bit high. But, the wind was off/side shore, the sun is shining, and everyone in the water seemed to be in high spirits.

Showed up later around 2 and had a great session. Not too many people in the water, plenty of good waves to go around. Mostly in the chest high range with some pretty nice shape for LM. Sunny good times!!

I showed up at 4:00 and it was, well, terrible. Relentless closeouts. Ended up driving in my suit down to the Jetty hoping for better. Knee high closeouts. Still, walked (not paddled) to the lineup and met a friend who has been out of the water injured since November, so I had plenty of laughs and sunshine. It was a great time. Who needs waves?

Sometimes it's just great being there.
