off\side\off shore shore is grooming some of the chop and folks are riding WH waves on well defined peaks. Longer wait than usual between sets. The longer period swell is showing up, albeit inconsistently. Bottom line: if you thought it was worth it to surf last week (I did) then its worth surfing now, imho.

I enjoyed the waves on my longboard at LM yesterday morning, surprisingly long rides for Lindy.
I'm a transplant from Socal so I'm unfamiliar with the swell patterns here.
Do I need to go out and get a longboard for the spring and summer waves? Or is it possible to hobble along on a shortboard?
Depends but if you go to Lindy's, longboard fo sho. Or just something with a little more foam.
There's almost always some part of smlm that's logtastic.
Kook, you'll probably have a few more choices in the summertime if you have a log in the quiver. Even if you're not into trim: might be tastier than watching someone with more foam sail by you.
@gamed, thank you for going there so I didn't have to... I had resisted the urge but was about to give in.
@tracey & Zurffy: I'd rather stick an oar up my *ss than paddle a surfboard with it. More foam it is.
I find to be able to surf everyday in Norcal having a 4 board quiver is about right. I have a hole in mine right now and it's causing me to be longing for the missing board on many days. I have a 9'4" log, had an 8ft harbour that I broke and am currently missing a lot, 7ft hybrid fish and a 6'10 thruster.
@lkilpatrick: I thought you ordered another board from Harbour with the same specs. At least I thought I saw it on the Harbour Talk site.
