Hey Zurffy. First off, love the photo. Can't go wrong with the Brits when it comes to wit. I surfed the other evening as well, and enjoyed paddling out a bit earlier when there were literally two people in the water. As the water glassed off I cherished the fact that the last noted surf reports via Wise and surfpulse left off on the notion that the waves were not good, and that most likely I would enjoy the waves with only a couple of folks who had made the drive and effort to physically check it. One of those moments that a surfer loves, and because he made the effort, deserves. I was surprised and a bit perturbed (got dropped in on twice) toward the latter part of the session how suddenly there were about 20 surfers around the same empty peak I had paddled out at but assumed they had made the haul like me. Now no one can say that your post had that influence, but doesn't it seem counter intuitive that we should encourage people whose instinct is to not be surfing to surf? Wouldn't it be better, call it natural selection, to allow those putting the dedication in to either drive to or live by the beach to enjoy a moment solo that would otherwise have fallen under the radar of everyone's else's sight? Know what I mean? I know it seems right to share the stoke as it were, but if there's never an uncrowded moment in the water, the stoke I fear will no longer be so stokey.

Of note those Wise Guys (yes pun intended) are a bunch of cantankerous bellicose geriatric surfers, and their reports via the phone line are almost always in line with that.
Wise report: it sucks with short period windswell: Actuality: 10ft @15s: Head high glassy.
So what's my point...umm I dunno other than I kind of agree with Mr Shhhhh.
If you go, go. Surf.
Then, when the sun sets, report. It will keep everyone happy.
