surfed 6:30-8 at one side of the beach, where it was fun, but poor+, then drove to the other end of the beach, heading to work, and saw that it was genuinely good at this end, so I suited back up. (0 ppl out when I arrived, surfed 8-10am, maybe 8 in the water when i left). no chop, no funk, just clean SH peeling sets every 5 minutes or so. A little amuse-bouche of the autumn, if you will.

I hardly agree with your description that OB was even marginally good this morning. I think you are being quite generous in your rating. Here is an example of a "good surfing" day at OB.
@lounar, in @greg's defense, I think he's being relative. It's like calling the least fat girl at fat camp "hot".
The best surfing is BBW surfing. Rolling over the folds, discovering what's in the nooks and crannies, and feeding a whale of an appetite.

I'm going to stand my ground on this one. That girl Maggie from season 2 of fat camp WAS hot. Similarly, on the low tide, at that end of the beach, this morning was the best I've seen OB since mid-April. Fine, the size wasnt there, so it was a bit soft (though still easy to catch on my 6'2), but the intermittent sets were fun (and in no way could be described as shore-pound). Hell, it was good enough to convince me to put my wet wetsuit (that I had taken off 5 minutes prior) back on, and get back in.... My final offer: Fair+.
