What?!? The fog has come in and there is moderate onshore breeze at ocean beach. The fog is pretty thick and it's hard to see what's going on. I'm guessing slightly junky, 1.5x overhead and kinda fun. I've got to get this Audi back to my mom by 9am so I'm heading in.

Yea, kinda big and mixed up. Still some fun corners if you were on the right spot.
The building tide and the rising winds Were not helping at all when I left.
A solid fair.

I'm so tired from yesterday I'm almost relieved... almost...
I though it was gonna be nice all weekend?

Agree with the big and slightly sloppy calls. I was able to snag a few runners, but each was immediately followed by a paddle-a-thon. Made it a quick session.

Not like yesterday. No sun, no offshore, no dragonflys, no bikinis and no crowds. Still HH (size seems to have picked up a bit) and the inside is still brutal. Lots of closeouts, few workable faces. Enjoy!

Crazy thick fog when we paddled out, like no chance of seeing shore from the outer bar lineup, and not the easiest paddle. Once out, peaks were shifty, but they had the best energy they've had since last winter. Solid head high groundswell. As @Eduardo said, it was all about being in the right spot. If you were, you were pretty stoked & then, a few seconds later, pretty bummed when you realized the paddle you had just given yourself (yeah, groundswell, but not the best period. Damn waves were persistent).
Overall, definitely solid fair, and yeah, besides the folks I paddled out with, I was all alone out there. And w/the fog, it definitely heightened that feeling.

Decided not to go out at 10ish after talking to the slew of dudes leaving with frowns and looking at the mess... Might try later.

Yes, do, but remember..maybe they weren't up for the challenge Mrs Slaw, and perhaps you were. Many a disheartened face represents opportunity and solitude for some.
I'd suggest a little pepper, a little mayo, perchance thinly cut carrots, and a healthy portion of briney cabbaged paddling, and now you're 'slawin. Worth the fight.

I had a bummer session from about noon-1ish, which I can blame mostly on a lackadaiscal paddle, since, after looking outside, I wasn't sure just how badly I really wanted to be out there anyway. It, of course, started to clean up as I left.
Playing in the shorebreak was good getting-wet wise. I had the realization as I got out that I could make a beeline straight for Folsom St. and fit right in. I opted for the hooded suit today, complete with booties and gloves. Encased in rubber! There was even some piss* play involved.

I too had a bummer of a session at 2 or 2:30 at one end of the beach. Brutal paddle. I am humbled once again.

was at that place that use to be a parking lot around 1:30pm and looked out at patient folk waiting for the every 20 minute overhead sets getting a few crazy rides... looked somewhat good but too wild and refused to deal with the paddle.. headed south and had some nice ones down where rocks are the name... pleasant humble people in the water a random lobs of kelp...
