Small clean peaky fun. I'm surprised there's no reports yet from today...maybe everyone is recovering from the gnar this weekend? I didn't get out this weekend, so I definitely enjoyed the waves I got today. Seemed like the crowd around me did too. Sometimes it's easier to shine work than it is to shine family responsibilities. I think I'm the opposite of a weekend warrior at this point, purely due to being a dad, not cause I'm so bad, ha.

SFOB fair++ Pretty fun out there, solid OH on the bigger sets (towards the smaller end of the beach), breaking top-to-bottom even on the high tide. The gusty offshores make for some interesting takeoffs--extra stroke or two definitely mandatory, and a few of those set waves seem to feather forever. What with the sun and the race and all, plenty of people walking around the beach--you'd almost think we lived in a beach town. In the words of rebecca black: fun fun fun fun.

Solid overhead pushing 2x. It takes a special snowflake to even try today. Being my usual self, I of course, was dismissive. Got out the 6'4 gringo thinking eh, no biggie.OK, biggie. Three mouseketeers put in where the crow flies, and after that it was a 6 bar full signal duck a l'orange slogfest. A few times we gave each other 'the look'. You know as you paddle out, and a huge folding meaty beast roars on the inside, and it makes you pause, and 'look' at your paddle partner in disbelief and dismay for confirmation. I even gave the roundup signal, but you know, stubborn me...never gives up a fight even if up against the ropes. So I pushed. And I got out. The next question is what now....I made it out, so now I have to actually DO something. I'm watching HUGE bombs just spray to the South. I see H20 in the pit to the South and I'm like 'wow, I'm glad I'm not there'. So my strategy to get back in was to get a tweener. Not a huge outlier bomb, but something imbetween in the pit. I move in and take the risk. Next thing I know I see a tweener building. Go time. Stand, yet I feel air...shit...then...thankfully board again...tha tha tha tha tha tha tha F YEAHHHHH!

Double session today. Definitely ass cold this morning. Hood, gloves, the whole shebang. Very wonky and hard to line up. But there was some size and power moving out there. Got one HH+ right and had to go to work. Grabbed a sunset session and paid a heavy entry fee. Took 30 mins to get out. Same story as this morning. Wonky and crossed up but some shapely HH+ shoulders rolling through. Again with one nice right and called it good. Better than poor because I made it out and caught a couple.

Fun morning out there. No wind, mostly small waves with larger sets. Lots of clean lefts, some rights. I was out from 8-9:30; the waves seemed a lot mushier by the end.

10am was one hell of a paddle out at play land.Definitely brought the wrong board. way too thick. still a good paddle, Lots of force behind them waves today. got sucked back and went over on another. looks like it mellowed out again just 2hrs later. had fun.

Glassy, slight offshores, & 6'@15s swell normally elicits woohoo's, but something was off. Too right place/right time. Way outer bar would throw on occasion, crumble at other times. Infrequent, but just frequent enough to keep me, for much of the session, smack dab inbetween it & in the inner bar. Some beautiful waves seemed to break off in the distance, both S & N of me, but it rarely lined up. Caught a few, still stoked, but a bit of a frustrating day. I'm guessing someone out there is really stoked b/c they successfully lined a bunch up.

Racy and a little closed out. The waves couldn't decide whether they wanted to break on the inner bar or outer bar. A little warbly and disorganized. Chest high with occasional head high sets. Punch and power behind the waves, but backing off sometimes on the outside and waiting to break on the inside. Very hard to get a good wave due to the inconsistency. Fair -

Waist-Chest high sort of near the middle-ish kinda. Inconsistent. Clean long lines were scattered throughout the beach and there was no real defined peak where I was at, or as far as I could see in either direction. Lined up and fun when you could get a good one. Not too weak either. I rode a 5'6" stubby shortboard and was having a ball. This was between 6:45 and 8:30 AM.

Clean small fun this morning. Waist shoulder high and clean. Cold, but felt good when the sun came out. Empty.

Giving it fair- compared to the excellent surf we have been having. Also a bit intermittent. But enjoyable on some foam if you feel like getting out.

Anyone else see the juvenile whale in the Mid-Aves around 8am??! Maybe a humpback? Surfaced 5-6 times and was inside of the lineup in approx 12' of water. Pretty amazing. Hope it doesnt end up beached...

Ate it and lost a contact on the first wave, so the rest of the sesh was a bit of a blur. Nothing like not seeing the wave until it's right on top of you and having almost no depth perception to keep you on your toes. Ended up getting a few OK rides but I'd call it fair-/poor+ at best. Seemed to get wonkier as the day went on.

Clean, glassy, intermittent. Beautiful morning with some fun waves, but incoming tide and falling swell made it a bit git or miss. 1.5x+ on the biggest set waves, solid HH+ in general. Definitely fun but didn't quite live up to its promise...

Down by the zoo amazing at sunset. 20ft plus sets. guys were ripping it up. Gonna be bigger tomorrow. this long period swell is perfect. If you have the balls or the vagina, paddle out. otherwise watch from shore and congratulate when they paddle in. It was more fun watching them rip it up out here than at mavericcckkkssss

Glassy, Chest to HH. Mellow and soft after the initial drop, a good day for a longboard on the outside, or a fish on the inside. Had a stack of fun on the longboard with the dropping tide. Pretty quiet out there to surprisingly. This weather is nuts, better than summer!

Fair cause it is pretty soft, + cause I was on a longboard.

On the way home I saw a guy on a crap bicycle with a twin fin surfboard mounted on the side, passing a lyrca clad dude on a racing bike on the way up skyline. Made my day!

Stacked rows of 10ft high white wash. 2x to 3x OH bombs detonating all over the place. Inner/outer bars are over-powered by the swell producing massive closeouts. Indeed the Mysto bars are breaking and I swear some look like they're breaking about a mile offshore. I should have brought my binoculars. Good day for Coast Guard training!

Classic OBeast day. Time it wrong and it's a 30-wave grind. Outside varied from clean and really fun to too walled or funky mashed potatos. Nice when the overhead and the paddle cut down the crowds. Ain't complaining - got my 'drenalin fix for sure.

Funky day out there. Looked a litte smaller when we got in (HHish) but there was some power on the sets. Very tough to be in position. Was still very much a right time / right place situation when we got out, but I saw some overhead a frames too.

Compared to the fun surf we have been having, it's not a great day. But if you line it up right, you could have a super sweet screaming ride.
