Brothers on the Run: Surfing in Alaska (video)

Pro snowboarders John and Eric Jackson hit the end of the road in Alaska as they catch some icy waves in Alaska with fellow pro snowboarder Travis Rice and big wave surfer Ian Walsh. Then it's back on the snow in costumes for the Slush Cup at the local snow resort.

Drove the beach early. Didn't look like much, but found a peak in the mist. Most of my rides were meh, some ehh, but just enough aaaahhhh on the lully south sets to have me leave the water pretty stoked. Dolphin aerobatics to boot. Who else can't wait for a bit of indian summer.....?

Book Review - In Search Of Captain Zero - Allan Weisbecker

Here is my review. You should read it. I got this book awhile ago and have already read it multiple times. If it doesn't make you want to go on a surf trip, I don't know what will. Never done the baja car trip, but definitely will someday. The backroad banditos are a bit nerve-racking though. Any stokers have some gnarly baja stories?

A lot of sideshore turning onshore wind, but still some fun sections as the tide was rising. Too much water and wind after awhile. Looked like a longboard by Dick's house would have been a decent call.

Holy frijoles, it's goin off. Nooks that are normally flat as a pancake have regularly scheduled freight trains comin through. Bring your patience for the crowd, but get your stoke on, this prob won't happen again this year

Another pretty decent day. Took the shortie to Canada pre-crowd and the log to middletown post-crowd. Heard many people mention their high stoke level, and I have to agree with them. Canada was bowly and fun, middletown was logariffic. If it were only like this all the time....

Hi tide, low crowd, rainbows, otters, and occasional head high 200 yd rights. I think most of town was in a green beer fog, friendly and mellow crowd. Empty at sunrise, gettin more crowded as I left. Waitin for the afternoon low tide double sesh.
