Lots of fun in the fog. Shoulder high in some spots, clean, wind minimal. Burned out my shoulders paddling for waves not out to the waves, which was a welcome change. North bound current working. Maybe 10 guys on the beach. Getting a bit flooded, but if you can surf for lunch, go for it.

Giving it a plus 'cause for ten minutes the sun came out, followed by a rainbow stretching from ###### to ######. Dope yo. Otherwise, pretty constant selection of mush burgers and north bound current. Wind rising steadily. Caught two waves about chest high, and felt lucky to have done so.

clean, shapely, and very fun at 8 a.m., then fattened up on a high tide diet. CH, occasionally bigger, no wind and not much of a crowd except on one peak. usually LM seems to close out on the set waves, but today those were holding up. good day to surf

Just watched 180 south, a documentary about an modern day expedition inspired by a 1968 trip to Patagonia. Excellent footage, good message, sweet waves. I wanna go now!

I picked up a used five fin bonzer. Looks like it was originally hand shaped for someone named Sam. Dimensions: 7'0", 2.75", 21". burnt out my arms paddling it around last weekend, stoked!

sunny, chest high+, some texture. Surfed solo at a spot I found last spring. Caught a fun right, a few pig dog lefts, and finished it off with a HH OB style drop in front of exploding foam wall.

I'm loving the new to me 5 fin bonzer I just picked up.

surfed muddy high tide mashed potatoes with RMK from 11-1. surprisingly uncrowded given warmth, sunshine etc... I'm guessing the low tide sunset session would have been a better choice. Felt very odd to be back on the log

very similar to yesterday. mostly WH mushy stuff with the occasional clean line ending in a close out. Intermittent long period HH cleanups mixing in. Warm off shores and relatively small crowds made it a pretty enjoyable Saturday a.m.

Ate my fair share of humble pie today. After a 30 minute paddle out I foolishly took first wave in a very long set and then got tossed around in the impact zone for while. Eventually caught a HH clean wave about 50 yards off shore and called it a day. Saw a few folks getting some absolute bombs mid-beach.

Who filled the bath tub with cold water? brrr...

stereotypical LM winter day. Clean, very fun SH waves for 45ish minutes while the off shores blew. Then, the crowds descended, wind switched on shore, and conditions quickly degraded. Way warmer than yesterday at OB.

11-1 ish, tricky peaks and shifty wind but some very fun HH waves too. seemed a bit fat, even with the falling tide, inside section was a total mess. alternated between clean and choppy a few times while I was out there.

side note, it looked like SC on a Saturday down by the monkey cages, I don't think I have ever seen that break that crowded.

rant/report. woke up well before dawn and drove down the coast, south of SR-85. Arrived too late, despite the early hour -- tide was already too low and wind too high. 8 folks in the water already, but only one getting waves. Drove more south to one of the mile marker breaks north of Santa Cruz, and paddled out on my 8'0". Was promptly informed, "long boarders are not welcome here." After that, I hung around on the shoulder long enough to see some excellent surfing and to catch one inside. Drove south again, surfed SH waves at 1st peak, in the sunshine. Not a bad day, all in all.

mid morning update, still small (waist high on my peak) but super duper clean with a mild offshore. Way more funner than yesterday.

On a side note, its been so long since I surfed my small wave board that I forgot it was off leash. But conditions are such that it didn't matter. stoked!

Mostly choppy, sloppy, and swampy but an occasional clean one came through. Super short period swell too and current moving quickly south. Saw one LBer catching a few on a soft shoulder and a Sber or two catching a quick drop & close, but not much else. Nice setting sun.

worse than it looks, and that is saying something; mushy, soft, choppy, crumbly, disorganized, weak, jumbled... these are all words that describe mid-beach OB from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Dolphins are definitely the best thing going on in the water today.

fair-. beautiful sunset, warm, mild wind... can't remember the last time I had such a chill evening surf at OB (last fall?). inside section was thump and dump, but thruster riders looked like they were having fun. eventually the tide dropped enough and the outside bar producing shoulder high ramps. nice one.

poor +, but more fun than it looks. A few waist high nuggets mixed in with crumbly shore dump. Actually found a clean a-frame "peak" but the northward current made it tough to stay on it. on the plus side, it is empty out there, even at the typically popular OB spots. Multiple dolphin pods and some serious schools of fish too.
