Epic, consistent, long fast glassy lefts and rights, but soooo crowded. Cleaned up nicely after yesterdays victory at sea, but with that brought a lot of debris in the water. We all had fun, as did the 'mellow locals' too.

Regardless of the conditions, a beautiful morning at the Bo. Small ankle to knee slappers on the left, with a few long rights all the way into the channel.

BTW, used my new Jamie Murray 9'6" log today for the first time (decided to keep it), and what a sweet ride!

Decided to avoid the crowds and head in the other direction for a change. Found it to be big and sloppy, except for one smallish place that showed some promise, but kept closing out with the receding tide. We did catch a few nice short fast shore breakers, but only for a few seconds.

Last session of 2011, and what a day! Glassy, and slight off shore breezes with 4' to 6' walls all over the place. Long, long rides where I was, and plenty to go around with the crowd that showed up. But damn it's cold getting into that wetsuit. Not really as cold as when I left town this morning though with frost all over everything. The Bo' was pumping, and hopefully is a sign of more to come.

Now this old body will settle in at home for the evening with some home made turkey soup, followed by some Geritol and pain pills ; - )

Did the post dawn patrol today at the Bo' and what fun we had in the water. Not to crowded, and plenty of knee slappers, with some occasional waist high sets that peeled all the way into either the channel or the reform depending on where you were at. Water's still not too cold, but damn, getting out of that wet wetsuit and taking a nice warm rinse is priceless.

Still plenty of those damn cruiser SUP's trying to take all the waves on the right, but sometimes you just need to snake them out of the way on the inside. Ha Ha!

First 'weekend' out in a while, and what a different crowd, but still pretty mellow for the Bo'. WH to CH on the right with plenty of waves and long reforms on the inside making for some fast rides. Parking always an issue here, but pulled up just in time as someone was leaving. And Brrrr!

Tracey, there's always Women surfing here at any given time. Nobody gives them any "fucking" shit either. Although there are many a Male who still have this elitist attitude that Women should not be surfing, of which I say: What a pathetic attitude to have, no wonder you're alone, and will stay that way for a very long time.

Side Bite Fin Box screws . . .

On my 2+1, I have Future's side bites with the tightening screws for the fins. One box/fin screw seems to be stripped, and very difficult to tighten and loosen with the fin key. I have replaced the same size screws, but now the box seems to possibly be stripped. What are the options here?

The conditions 'were' sunny with slight off shore breezes holding up some fast knee high lefts. Water and air temps made for a most enjoyable day at the Bo'. Not crowded, and the vibe as usual was friendly in the water. I sure do like this little village tucked away as it is.

Couldn't figure out what his guy was trying to accomplish. A new side slip take off? BTW, this photo was not taken today, left the camera home?

One word, Junk! But nice to be back at the beach. Tide was moving out so fast on the left that it was destroying what waves were coming through, even though they were knee high and crumbling. To the right was flat as an old girl friend of mine in high school, but her personality made up for it as did a day at the Bo'.

Water's still a bit warmish, 55, so no need yet for the gloves and hoods.

Wetsuits: Back Zip or Chest Zip?

Ready for a new 4/3 mm and am looking for some feedback from those using mainly chest zip suits. I have been to several shops, and many now claim that the chest zip offers less restricted movement when paddling. And having tried on several chest zip suits, they can be quite difficult to get in and out of. The one suit I'm looking at is the O'Neill RG8.

A 'Swell' day at the Bo'. Knee to chest high with occasional head high lefts in the channel. Patch was consistent, but crumbling and best suited for the SUP'ers and logs. Sun was peaking in-n-out of the fog bank along the beach, ever so slight side breeze, and gently warm temps for the soul. All in all, a beautiful day to be at the beach.

BTW, the sign says it all.

I see this is the 3rd Bo' report, however, I arrived at noon and the tide was running up the ramp and slamming people against the walls. So Lady Bo' was have fun with her visitors. One guy even braved the shore break for some body pounding off the ramp. Lots of beach/sand erosion on this swell.

To the left was in the 2' to 4' range but inconsistent. To the right, consistent sets coming through in the 3' to 5' range, with a few SUP'ers and mostly longboards. The inside reform was fast, but you needed to kick out before getting pounded by the shore break.

The sun finally peaked its head through the mist and fog that kept showering my lenses from the stiff onshore breeze as we left about 2:30.
