sunny day, light variable winds, almost glassy and very rideable south swell in the waist to head high range depending on where you look. it should improve with the outgoing tide this afternoon if the wind holds off, which it looks like it's doing. 2 words: go surfing!

more of the same today at ###### from 12:30 - 1:30. there was a little bit of a soft sandbar right working just north of ######. overall it was substandard but totally gorgeous out. nice to see a few nicely shaped fannies on the approach to the shoreline. a rare sight indeed.

fantastic weather at OB, but no surf. calling it junky+ (sucky+?) at ######. there were a few waist-high shoulders now and again, but it was small, jumbly, stacked-up, short period windswell, with no fangs to speak of.

despite the warm weather and mostly calm winds on the beach, it was pretty crappy surf at OB. went in between ###### and santiago and there were a few short ones to be had, but it was mostly stacked, junky, mixed up windswell, and the incoming tide wasn't doing me any favors. if the wind stays down, tomorrow could show some decent surf.

fun chest to head high set waves rolling in around cliffhouse at 2:30. more lefts with the south swell direction but some rights too. compared to how it's been I'm giving it a "good."

75 degrees and sunny at the beach. the surf is 1-3 and fairly miniscule, so bring something big and floaty if you're going. i expect it will improve with the outgoing tide, but for those at work (ie. @beachbum) you didn't miss much.

rode the outgoing tide at ###### from noon to 2pm. it was 3-5, light north winds, and 97 degrees at the frickin beach. if you're going, bring something floaty or fish-like, as the swell lacks a little punch. but go, definitely go.

surfed 12:45-2ish at ###### in blistering 85 degree OB heat. the outgoing tide was a little heavy but the peaks were plentiful and sets were 6-8. the north wind was on it a little by the time i got out, but if you have even the *slightest* inkling to surf, today's your day!

the swell is definitely picking up fellas. it was overhead and a half at ###### around 3:30. i was undergunned. moderate wind out of the south was junking it up a bit, but there were some really nice waves rolling through now and again.

pretty small and mostly pretty mushy at 2:30 this afternoon, with an occasional chest high set to keep your hopes up. the day is beautiful and warm, and the water is glassy. if you're not sure whether to go or not, in the immortal words of the butthole surfers: "it's better to regret something you have done than to regret something you haven't done."

Concurring with beachbum's morning prognosis, it was a lumpy late afternoon at OB, with sets coming in every 10 minutes or so to clean out the lineup b/t ###### and ######. The outgoing tide was too low, the current was heavy, and the rip was doing a number on the inside. Silver lining: the weather was outstanding. Bodes well for a morning surf?

the conditions are pretty good, all things considered. i was out at 2pm for an hour and there were 5 guys out at ###### with me catching a few head-high to overhead dredgy barrels here and there. there's some hungover-ness to the swell, but it could be a lot worse. one thing to note: It's *cold* today.

it was a bit of a stacked up, short period, warbly time out there, but there were definitely a few for the taking at 10am. it seemed to be deteriorating a little and getting sloppier when we got out of the water, but it's worth a look if want to get wet/get some exercise.

The wind died down before sunset leading to some quick, glassy (if dredgy) rides every now and again. It wasn't more than 3-4 ft on the sets. Current wind conditions bode well for the morning surf.
