Just had a pretty fun session at Wrightsville Beach, NC. Lots of fun, mellow waist high rollers and very few surfers out. @Tracy, you would have dug it the most. Hopefully this report doesn't generate a stampede of surfers crashing the party out here :)

Tamarindo, Costa Rica

The surf has been small but fun the past few days here at Tamarindo in Costa Rica. We just arrived at our hotel in Playa Guiones. According to Lonely Planet it's considered the best beach break in the central peninsula and the surf is expected to be slighty OH mañana. Can't farkng wait to hit it.

Pretty fun stuff at Rockaway from about 1:30 - 3. Only a handful of guys out and lots of shoulder high waves for everyone. I hadn't been out in about two weeks so it was nice to get my cherry popped all over again.

Absolutely jonesing today so my buddy and I just stopped by Linda Mar hoping for a miracle. Crappy closeouts on the ###### and smaller crappy closeouts on the ######. Crossing fingers and heading to HMB.

Decent session at ###### from about 10-12. Kind of a strange day today. There were waves to be be had but the good ones were tough to find. Outer bar waves looked great but kept backing off at the last second. Inner waves tended to close out, and every 20 -30 minutes a 10 wave HH+ set would roll thru to punish everyone inside. Took a lot of those on the head. Still a fun day tho.

Fun times at ###### today. Pretty crowded but there were plenty of waves for everyone. Mostly waist to head high with some overhead plus guys rolling thru as well. Something for everyone out there today and a relatively easy paddle out. I also just drove past northern OB and it looked junky and closed out from what I saw.

Just had a fun hour out at ###### Cove enjoying lots of chest to shoulder high waves. The big excitement of the day was watching a guy get rescued off the rocks by a medi-vac chopper. There was a pretty strong northern rip and he got swept out there in a hurry. Talked briefly to him afterwards and luckily he's just fine. It was quite a show by the emergency personnel.

Just had a really fun two hour session at Linda Mar. Waves up near ###### were in the waist to shoulder high range with the occasional HH set rolling thru. The sun was out most of the morning and the waves were holding up much better than yesterday. Also ran into @tcurran a few minutes before I was heading in. Solid day.

Surfed near ###### from about 10-12. Decent size on the bigger sets and there were a fair amount of closeouts but it was still pretty fun out there. Kind of a weird day today. It looked better from the beach than it was in the water, but I still got 10 plus rides in.

Just had a fun but pretty uneven session in front of the ######. Fairly strong northern rip so I had trouble sitting on a peak and found myself at ###### Cove in no time. Waves were ok. Got some fun ones in but there were lots of closeouts as well. And I should have brought my dirty laundry b/c I had a nice long ride in the OB washing machine at one point. Happy Festivus everyone!

Good times at LM today. Surfed in front of ###### from about 10:30 to 12:30. Waves were mostly in the chest to HH range with the occasional OH bomber rolling thru. There were some tasty shoulders here and there to sample and enjoy. Fairly crowded but it's nice and sunny with a mild breeze. Go get some.

Fair minus at LM today. There were waist high, three wave sets rolling thru every ten to fifteen minutes, but the cold and the wind made it feel like an hour in between sets. Pretty cold and miserable out there, but I'm also the idiot in the 4:3 suit without gloves or a hood. I'm hoping to see my balls again by Friday.

Pretty crappy out at LM today, or at least it was crappy from about 10:45-11:45. I felt like most of my time was spent sitting and freezing or paddling for waves that never quite broke. I did get one pretty fun ride in and also got dumped over the falls pretty good on another, (@Tracy saw me get tossed ass over teakettle). And as we all know, a good wipeout is always better with a witness.

Just got out of the water at ######. It's nice and sunny out with a slight breeze and mostly shoulder to head high waves. There were some shoulders here and there but most of what I saw was closing out. Pretty easy paddle out, but I spent more time chasing and getting dumped off waves then actually riding them today, although I got a handful of fun ones in.

Just got a fun hour in at OB in between the ###### and ###### Cove. Super mellow paddle out and a fair amount of waist to head high rides, with no wind and lots of sun. About as easy an OB day as you're gonna get.

Fun waist to shoulder high waves today from about 10-12:00. Not sure why but it was insanely crowded for a weekday with average conditions. Still managed to snag a bunch of fun rides tho, although at one point I had a long swim to the beach after I snapped my leash. Nice and sunny most of the morning but there was a thick carpet of fog rolling in while I was leaving.

Fun stuff today at LM. Was surfing a little north of the pumphouse from about 10-11:30. It was a little crowded out there, but the vibe was fine and there were lots of fun waist high lefts and rights peeling off. Happy T-day everybody.

Just sat at ###### for a few minutes. Watched a hearty soul paddling out, and my buddy and I decided to continue onto Linda Mar after watching him duck dive 20+ times without even getting all the way out. We're close to LM now and I bet he's still out there paddling. Waves looked HH+ though and fairly clean. If you're up for the burly paddle, OB looked pretty fun.

Crap...I'm really wishing I hit up OB today, although Linda Mar was decent. Surfed mostly in front of the hotel from about 11-12:30. Knee to waist high waves with the occasional head high wave rolling thru. But it was pretty crowded where I was and it seemed like there were three guys on every wave. However my buddy had much better success way up on the ######.

Was in the water from about 12-1:30, surfing in b/t ###### and the pumphouse. Most of the crowd seemed to be down on the ###### of the beach. Gorgeous weather out with waist to head high waves, but unfortunately most of them were closing out pretty fierce. Got dumped on my head a bunch on closeouts and also managed to get a handful of fun rides in. It was far from great out there but still an excellent way to kill my Sunday hangover.

I'm going to agree with the two fart rating given below. The good news was that the sun was out, the sky was blue, and the awful early morning conditions scared most people away so there were less than 20 people total in the water. That being said, it was still pretty jumbly and crumbly out there, and it was definitely a good day to bring the long board. Got more than a handful of decent rides, but nothing crazy.

I'd rate LM this morning somewhere in between a poor + and a fair. I caught a whole bunch of rights just slightly south of the ######. None of them were all that big or fast, but at least there were a lot of them and some held up pretty well. There were some shoulder to head high waves rolling thru on a quasi regular basis, but they all seemed to be closing out and you were basically just surfing whitewater if you caught one and didn't get dumped. And at least I didn't get farted on by any seals, so I got that going for me...which is nice.

Closeout city today at Linda Mar. Mostly waist high sets rolling thru with an occasional HH wave here and there. I was parked in between the pump house and ###### but most people were surfing the far ###### of the beach. I saw one or two people snag a random shoulder but it was almost exclusively short closeout rides for me. Still better than nothing, but judging from the other reports it definitely looks like OB is the right call today.

Fantastic time at Linda Mar today. Was in the water from about 11 - 12:30 and caught a bunch of really fun HH+ waves right in front of ######. Faces were holding up nicely. Also got my arse completely handed to me by several monsters that had to be 2X overhead. The overall power and size seemed to be picking up a bit when I got out. Super fun day though.
