Just got a glimpse while sadly rushing elsewhere. Glassy with 1.5x peaks seemingly everywhere. I would say "good" but you all know the consequences of messing that one up (plus I only had about 4 seconds to look!)

The jetty is much cleaner than elsewhere, but still pretty bad. A handful of the truly desperate were catching a few shoulder high, mostly closeouts, here and there that lasted about five seconds. I didn't bother -- I think the tide will have it swamped out until later this afternoon when it might improve to solid poor +.

Linda Mar Water Stank Gone

FYI: For weeks the water at Linda Mar has smelled suspiciously like the toilets. Maybe that smell was related to a plankton bloom or some other non-land-mammal source. Now the water is fresh smelling and crystal clear.

Horrible conditions. Low-tide, crumbly crud with wind picking up. This around 10am.

In for an hour or so starting around 8:30. Very small around the pump house, but an occasional waist-high set would roll through with a little face to work. All good. No wind. Beautiful morning through and through.

From 11-1pm, glassy and warm with no perceptible wind. Small 1-2ft on the ###### and maybe double that at ######. Crowded, but good vibe. May improve with the tide. Tried the Jetty, but too flat to bother.

Hey all, I am a friend of Manny Palalay who died while surfing north Ocean Beach a week ago today. Manny was a beautiful guy who relentlessly passed along his stoke. Sadly, he left his wife, and a young daughter and son behind. A trust fund is being set up for the kids (Tatum and Mateo). If you'd like to help:
