I dithered over this spot for about 45 minutes before deciding not to go out.

Factors to consider:

Lake Michigan, Good Body Surfing

Took some time off the bike to get barreled. No one else out despite a city of several million very close by. Warm water too. Would have been big enough to ride on a long board, but not big enough for stand up barrels.

OB, it's nice to see you again! Wind has dropped right off, but it's still howling out at sea. That wind has stirred the water up and it's cold as hell. It's better than yesterday and there are a few peaks and faces to be had. But really it's only for the desperate.

Big and clean. No one out when I got there, this guy paddled out just as I came in. I watched him get one average one, then this sick one. I didn't get anything nearly as good, mostly I was relegated to the closeouts. Still, was nice to be out in some decent sized and clean surf.

Looks pretty crappy judging by the exploratorium roof cam. Perhaps it will improve as the tide drops, but I think the wind will need to change too. http://cams.exploratorium.edu:8010/ what a cool and handy web cam. I watched for a couple minutes and saw one guy get a wave, but didn't look very good.

Sunny, warm and decent waves to be had. Best at the ###### on the high tide. Quite crowded, but waves to go around. Biggest sets are overhead closeouts, but the medium sizers are mostly breaking quite nicely.
