good ... through the fog, head high and glassy and only saw 2 others but then it was pea soup fog and marking a point a bit hard without gps. dropping tide helped. was out around 3pm.

Pretty amazing the shape on these waves last friday from Lake Superior. This is the great lake that looks like the head of a dog on the way to Canada east of Minnesota... just so we all know it is not El Salvador. My friend says they surf until the lake freezes over but as usual timing is everything. Ouch!

SFOB 6 pm fair +. Actually a bit of a glass off and pretty good. Nice to see the sun go down. A few head-high sets and dolphins in the water.

Just for those who are always wondering what it is like at 8:30 AM on a Thursday morning on May 19th when the waves look somewhat possible but your really cannot tell from the internet, let me tell you there was a steady wind pushing like a wall of energy from the southwest and the one guy who go out that I saw said it was really hard to stay on a peak. Current pushing north at a wicked pace. In coming tide. Shape really did not look worthy of the effort. You did not miss much in the way of surf.

fair surfing conditions at Tahoe - Other

60 degrees at 10,000 feet. Thursday. Was up at donner summit for two amazing days of skiing, sun and heat. $15 at boreal on Fridays. Of course the snow got a bit sticky by mid-day but not a bad price to pay for skiing in a t-shirt. Light crowds but it we were there weekdays. The powder days are probably over but the sno-pack is awesome and there will be corn snow for a while.

I mean let's get real. The chance of any decent surf for the next four months is unlikely. Maybe a day here and there... if you are really lucky and drop everything and race to the beach for that 2 hour window of opportunity?

Yo. Was out at ###### about 12 to 2pm and it was perhaps one of the best days of the year. Not crowded. Overhead. Easy Paddle. Lots of bombs for the taking on the outside. If the weather does not turn should be good tomorrow in the AM. No rain yet. If you need a session, do not delay.
