Shoulder to occasional HH Tasty Mc Tasterson Taters out there today under calm grey skies. Not the most open of sections, but some of the tots I got stayed open. Bigger ones tended to be steep, spill, and then section, but that's just 'da-ushesh. Plain old good times were had, nothing too out of the ordinary.

instead of a-frames there were a-cups on offer at the los angeles end of ob this afternoon. but sometimes a small handful is all you need. there's something to be said about being able to walk out to the lineup. the fog moved in and made things sepia surreal and oil slicky. and then it left. a few hotties (also with a-cups) were lounging pre-fog. it was warm, the lot and highway were open, folks were soccerin' and frisbeein' and just beein', and chargers were charging (micro) chargeables. just another winter/spring/summer day at the b.

Got up, put on wetsuit, and brought the log. Couldn't see jack, couldn't see shit. Paddled out in the soup and was met by waist to shoulder high clean tasties. Very fun out there, and surfing was in fact accomplished.

Not too stoked this morning. Conditions were crap. Jumbled, low-tide waves throwing up all over itself. Foggy, with a light but steady south wind. If I didn't have better things to do this morning then maybe I would go out of desperation. I didn't check the whole beach, but that's because Great Highway is closed in both directions. Hoping things clean up a bit this afternoon.

Did the usual tour up and down the beach. Had high hopes, but it sure didn't look worth the paddle at dawn, despite what those So Cal boys now say they see in their cams.

Wow, what a change a few hours can make. Solid overhead clean ground swell. One other guy out that I could see. A couple good ones and some serious workings on the inside. Onshore picked back up just before sun set.

I swear there was a peak where I paddled out. 20 minutes later and 4 blocks North of where I started, nothing but sloppy crap. Good exercise and sunshine, but not much to surf out there.

Going...going...gone(?) South wind was getting on it bigtime when I left. Water was clear and cold (lots of upwelling), plenty of swelll, sun out, but here comes the storm. Tricky conditions, but beats the Santa Cruz stare and glare.
