Rant - KQED Forum segment on Rip Curl Pro

Interesting 30 minute piece on KQED yesterday. Much focus on Dusty's grey suited "sighting", several minutes on gender equality or lack thereof, and lots of OB stoke. Worth a listen.

Rant - Laird on Colbert Repor[t]

For anyone who enjoys Colbert and didn't see Wednesday's interview with Laird. I thought he came off pretty well. A lot of progress since the Lance Burkhardt days. Can't get the video to embed properly but here's the link

Sunday 11am - Ocean Beach, poor surfing

Anyone looking for reasons to avoid SFOB today, I've got two.

One, from the sensors the (onshore) winds are howling. And two, the good folks at the SFPUC are reporting combined sewer overflows at three locations along the beach today.

Monday 8am - Ocean Beach, poor+ surfing

Paddled out at about 0615 in gloriously war air and side/offshore breeze. The Surfpulse guy nailed it in this morning's report - jumbled up totally disorganized swell. The paddle wasn't tough and the rips weren't ripping, but lots of paddling around chasing (or dodging) waves coming into the lineup.

A BEAUTIFUL morning to be at the beach, here's hoping it cleans up on the falling tide.
