Paddled out by the contest site around 1 to check out the pros and see if I could snag some as well. They turned otherwise marginal HH+ waves into giant hacks, airs, and barrels. Ended up right by Gabriel Medina who was killing the left I was sitting on. Decided it was more fun to watch.

A low risk, low reward kind of morning out there. Lots of short length WH rides coming through at first light but it got pretty swamped out within an hour. Found myself toying with the inside shorepound for the last half hour. Logs might be able to have some fun out there still.

One of Linda's cousins twice-removed was kinda working early this morning. Anything HH or larger was basically shutting down but the in-between'ers would occasionally drain out on takeoff giving you some face time into the channels.
