Saturday 12pm - Heavenly, good skiing

Light crowds on the Nevada side. Groomers are in good condition. Huge pseudo powder piles all over Olympic. Get out here!

I remember someone saying they had a site where people can post boards they would be willing to lend out to travelers. I'm going to Costa Rica in January and I'm not going to pay the $150 fee to bring my board. Does anyone know the website?

Sunday 4pm - Mt. Rose, fair skiing

I volunteered with Project Snow today. Project Snow brings foster children up to Mt. Rose to learn how to ski or snowboard. I'm helping teach the kids how to ride and shooting a video about the organization. Check it out http://www.projectsnow.org

The snow conditions were a lot better than Sierra yesterday. Good cold snow and fast groomers that you can lay down some sweet sprays. Their base is a lot higher than most resorts and the powder on the side of the runs was still soft and sprayable. Not many people there so you never wait in line, similar to Homewood. The winds were crazy though due to the impending storm and they still ran the lifts for most of the day.

Friday 4pm - Kirkwood, great skiing

Kirkwood is reporting 62-68" in the last 24 hours and a storm total of 130" at the top. We arrived a little bit before 10 and took one run down chair 6 when we got word chair 10 will open soon. Ran over to 10 and got 6th chair and first tracks down the Wall. After a few runs there, we headed back to 6 because Sentinel Bowl just opened, and we dropped some huge cliff drops and then played around on some cat tracks. Took me about 5 tries, but I landed my first front flip today. Not very many people there and plenty of fresh everywhere. Another 2 feet falls tonight for a refill tomorrow.

The weather was nice and mild. Lightly snowing all day and around 27 degrees.

Thursday 5pm - Heavenly, great skiing

Holy crappppppp. Got to the Gun Barrel chair at 8:50 and jumped way up front through the singles line. Got one of the first tracks down Gun Barrel. Lapped for about 3 runs.. first run was mind blowing. Headed over to Sky Glades for a couple runs and then over to FB. Did about 5 laps through FB. Best early but then at the end of my day we took the cat track left and dropped in right at the mid mountain Gondola drop off. It was all untracked for 1/2 the run and a nice steep pitch. I would say FB was all time today.

Wednesday 12pm - Northstar, good skiing

A ton of powder hidden away in all the trees and nice soft groomed runs. Check out the trees off zephyr, lookout, and the backside. Snowing lightly and around 28-30 degrees.

Nice mellow day after the past two days' epic conditions.
