I went for a few of those mid-beach close-outs that @lkilpatrick mentioned without too much glory. Paddled down toward boatdocks and found a gang of people working a nice waist-high wave. Lots of fun up there!

Overall, a beautiful morning. Would have opted for a post-session nap on the beach if I didn't have to knock things off the work to-do list. Should be a really nice afternoon on the beach though.

Fun solo session in the sun just a bit south of the jetty. No wind. No people. The waves were fun but not stellar: waist-to-shoulder-high, short rides, rare peelers to the beach. I'll give it a fair for the beautiful morning, but it's probably not worth ditching out of work.

Waist high and sectiony. Way cleaner than the spots I checked to the north.

SMLM strong onshore brings funky texture: chop + slop. A few bouncy, sectiony rides for folks in the right place. Cloudy.

Not so hot at LM this morning. Close-outs from Denny's to the northern tip of the beach. A few ridable moments around boatdocks. For desperadoes and maint. sessioneers only.

Best part of the day was a great view of a sun-ring that appeared mid-morning:

The wind and chop present some challenges, but there are some fun waves way way up on the north end of the beach. A bit crowded up there. The sun almost made an appearance around 8:30.

Practiced the secret handshake with @maria. Great to put a face to your name!

Fun morning up and down the beach. Lots of energy in the early part of the morning. Seemed to mellow out after 8. I paddled up to the far-north to find a whole-lotta whomping close-out. Mid-beach seemed to work better: fun drops, make-able sections, some occasional long-ish rides. Totally worth paddling out.

Kind of a stiff current pulling everyone south. The sun finally showed up around 9.
