Rant - Earl

At Montauk, on Long Island's far eastern tip, nearly 100 surfers braved the waves and were excited by what was to come. "It's going to be 22-foot," said Bard Cebula, 21, of Short Hill, N.J. "Surfing that kind of wave, you either know what you're doing or you're going to drown."

Couldn't find a selection for sharp park, so filing it here instead. Started off @RV's 9:30 HH offshore and only 1 other neoprener out about a quarter mile up the beach. When will I learn that there's a reason for this?

Wednesday 9am - Linda Mar, fair surfing

sunny, calm winds, mostly glassy surface conditions... cleaned up a lot since yesterday. i surfed ###### from 7-9. mostly SH-HH dumpsters, with the occasional extended left. south of the pumphouse was a bit swamped and much slower due to the tide. far north was completely dumping. kind of hard to find consistency between mushed-out and closed-out this morning. fun, nevertheless.

also: there was some kind of camera crew with a rolling setup filming somebody trying to surf a fish in the shorebreak.

Wednesday 2pm - Steamer Lane, great surfing

St. Pat's truancy session @indicators 10-1. HH+ on the sets. The lane had some bombs that looked DOH. Even though it was on a fuller tide, there were plenty of fun ones rolling through. Crowd was not crowdy, weather was warm. Tide is heading out again, so it should only get better.
