Folks, I had both of my primary boards stolen from my car this weekend. Folsom and Precita. 6'6 Rawson round pin and a brand new 6'0 Vernor Rubble. Pictures coming later when I'm not working. Please keep an eye out.
The beach looked a bit weird and jumbled on the ultra high tide, so I headed south with the intention of surfing somewhere far away from the city. However, today turned out to be one of the rare ones where Linda actually holds up with a bit of size, and I opted to save the gas. Paid the price pulling into a closeout on the Canada end. I popped out the back and came up to this. Bummer days. Adios, favorite all around stick. There were lots of fun ones preceding. If anyone's got a thruster or quad in the 6'1 - 6'3 range that's in decent shape, let me know as I'm now in the market.
Just finished watching this. I'd call it a must see for anyone who's spent time in their life skating. Having grown up skating through the late eighties and nineties, I found it to be a full-on nostalgia maker. It's perfectly crafted, informative, touching, and rife with personality and humility. Oh, and if you weren't already aware, Mullen is a genius.
Nat Young just beat Bud Freitas in the trial rounds at the Lane. It should be fun to watch him go up against the big boys. Hopefully, he'll qualify and this'll be a precursor for having a Northern Californian on the 2013 World Tour.
Headed down yonder early this a.m. to escape the wind and chase the current southerly pulse. Found some glassy, well-formed inconsistent south/windswell combo peaks running up into around the shoulder high range on sets. The lulls were plentiful and there was a crowd on it (most likely due to a surf drought-ridden summer), but when the waves showed, it was absolutely worth the while. Lots of dolphins and seals lurking too. After the past week or so of garbage up here, I'll gladly take it.
My friend is taking a surf trip to Nicaragua soon. In preparation, he's organized a clothing drive for the NPH Orphanage (http://www.nph.org/ws/homes/home.php?org=3) that'll be going down this Friday at The Hemlock from 5 until 9. He'll also be DJing (most likely punk stuff). During the event the bar will be projecting Innersection 2011.
