ASP Women's World Champion surfer, Carissa Moore, has been handed wildcards to surf against the men later this year. Red Bull caught up with Carissa to find out more.

A group of surfers, business owners and community leaders have united to bring peace back into the lineup at Mavericks and stability to the renowned big wave surfing event. The group, with Mavericks pioneer Jeff Clark as Contest Director, is re-organizing the event as the Mavericks Big Wave Invitational.

In barrier shattering news, Carissa Moore has been awarded wildcards into the Reef Hawaiian Pro at Haleiwa and the Vans World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach. The 2011 ASP Women's World Champion will be competing alongside 200 of the world's most talented men. Both events are jewels in the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing series that takes place on the North Shore of Oahu every year.

Surfers in the Rip Curl Pro Search surfing contest scheduled for Ocean Beach in November will have to paddle out and catch waves just like the Kelly’s Cove locals, as the National Park Service has decided to prohibit all personal watercraft except for those used by lifeguards at the event.
